Halsey exploring Quebec City

Our journey started on Monday March 11th here in New Hampton. We were all set and ready for our adventure North to Quebec City, Canada.

Finally after 5 1/2 hours of driving we arrived in the great city of Quebec and checked into one of the oldest and most important landmarks of Quebec City- The Chateau Frontenac!

Bonjour!
Come along on our adventure, see where we went and all the amazing things we experienced!

We unpacked and headed out for a walk around town to stretch the legs and see some sights.

Art was everywhere!

Halsey is in front of City Hall.

We attended a beautiful butterfly exhibit at a greenhouse called Jardin de Hamel.

After about an hour of waiting, Halsey had a beautiful butterfly land on her hand! This was an amazing sight!

We traveled to the aqaurium too. Because it rained so much during our visit we had to find exciting things to do. Walking in the rain was one of them but seeing all of the sea horses and jelly fish at the Aqaurium was awesome. Halsey wanted to stay with the polar bear and the arctic foxes but we had to move on.

Amazing sea horse

The light show with the jelly fish was spectacular.

We saw some Harp Seals at the aquarium too!

Sculpture was everywhere in Quebec! It was
behind buildings, in alleys, in front of banks, and this one we found on our way to the Observataire de Cite, where we went to see all of Quebec. Much of our view from the 31st floor was all in fog! It was still really neat to see everything from above.

Halsey took a test at the observatory that asked her questions about all of the information that was shown in the exhibit. We learned about the Iroquois, Samuel de Champlain, and the Winter Carnival. We heard about Joe Malone, the captain of  The Bulldogs - one of the first hockey teams from Quebec City. Halsey and her parents did a pretty good job and answered 18 correct out of 20 questions.

Bravo, Halsey!
90%

Red Bull hosts a huge event in Quebec City called Crashed Ice where athletes skate down a luge in groups of four. On our last day Halsey was able to get a few autographs and one of them was Derek Wedge who is one of the top three in the world. He was super nice and made Halsey's day!
Merci, Derek!

There were taxis and horse drawn carriages but sometimes Dad's shoulders are the best!

Halsey was an amazing traveler! Merci! That means thank you in French. Au revoir!
